Warrawindi East Friesians
Warrawindi's first involvement with East Friesians started 20 years ago when we put Silver Stream East Friesians over the Corriedale flock with great success, until our farming enterprise changed direction.
The Foster Family, 'Haven Park', and the Galpin Family, 'Warrawindi', have had a long association over many years and we had recently purchased an East Friesian ram to breed our own ET cross rams for our commercial flock.
The oppotunity to purchase the stud came up and we had no hesitations.
The stud includes 480 purebred and EF/BL cross ewes.
The proven facts of the East Friesian:
- Highest milk production of any sheep breed
- Longest lactation of 240-300 days
- High fertility
- Bare breaches
We aim to produce the ultimate maternal sire crossing with Merino, Corriedale, 1st X and composite ewes for extra length and milking ability. With black nose and feet, and they will breed at any time of the year.
We are very excited at Warrawindi Farms to see what the EF/BL cross rams can add to any farming enterprise.
We will have rams in our 2019 sale.
